Educational interpreters and Cued Speech Transliterators provide deaf and hard of hearing students with communication access to classroom instruction, teacher/student dialogue and the overall school environment. This access allows deaf and hard of hearing students to participate in the educational and social activities of the school and to interact meaningfully with hearing peers, faculty and other school personnel.
If the student’s class schedule contains courses back-to-back, especially in a block scheduling situation, a relief interpreter may be required at additional cost.
